Prompt at http://sherlockbbc-fic.livejournal.com/575.html?thread=68671#t68671 - shooting range fic

"Sherlock, good shooting is about consistency. There's no point in getting your first eight shots on target if your last two are all over the place because you got distracted. You're not going to be able to make pretty patterns on the wall if you forget that."

***

"The difference between being a good shot and being a crack shot is learning to be still. And that means more than not waving the gun about when you get excited, it involves your whole body. The best marksmen can actually slow their heartbeat down in competition, you know."

***

"When I push your hip it means your leg needs to move further back, not that you lean into me. Concentrate on what this feels like, we're trying to take advantage of muscle memory here."

***

"Sherlock, that was worse than ever! You're just not focusing. You're looking for a slow heartbeat, remember, calm, not excitement. And can you please try and get your stance right this time without me having to correct it?"

It is probably very fortunate, Sherlock thinks, that though John is a brilliant shot and a conscientious teacher, he's so lousy at detection.

Jack Harkness flirts with just about anything that moves. In the first (?) ep of Torchwood he teaches a girl to shoot, with a very very much added sexual tension and not to subtle flirting from jack. So basically mremre (my interpretation at least) is saying they'd like it if John enjoyed it/took advantage of the situation just as much as Sherlock did. Also i loved the microfic it was quite well put together thank you for the fill.
