I've mostly forgotten the little I ever knew about Darwin, but one phrase that had stuck in my mind was about Huxley as 'Darwin's bulldog', which instantly gave me not only the slash, but that it would be Huxley topping.
As you will see from other comments on this post, there is a pent-up demand for Darwin/Huxley slash - I wouldn't know enough to be able to write it, even as crack fic, but it sounds like you would be the right person to do so.
